Many adoptive and guardianship families are parenting children who struggle with their mental health. Locating mental health providers who are skilled in adoption and have helped children who have experienced trauma and loss is very important. As such, Right Turn® identifies, trains, and refers families to professional post-adoption and guardianship providers in your area.
Right Turn is proud to be the Nebraska partner for the Center of Adoption Support and Education’s Training for Adoption Competency (TAC). TAC is a training program specifically developed to provide licensed mental health professionals with the clinical skills they need to provide quality clinical services to adopted persons, birth families, prospective adoptive parents, adoptive families and kinship families. It is grounded in a consensus-based definition of an “adoption-competent mental health professional” and 18 adoption competencies developed in collaboration with a National Advisory Board of adoption experts.
