Welcome to Parent2Parent!
Your willingness and desire to help, support, guide, and advocate for families is appreciated!
Adoptive and guardianship families often face special challenges in their day-to-day parenting. In addition, they often struggle with larger systemic challenges that require special time and attention. In response, Right Turn® created the Parent2Parent program. As a P2P Advocate, you will offer families additional support as someone who has experienced similar challenges.
This special website portal, for Parent2Parent Advocates, will help you along your journey of working with Right Turn families. Here you will find the forms you need, “tips and tricks”, a variety of resources and a P2P volunteer description. Welcome to the team!
A little about Lisa Kelly, Parent2Parent Network Coordinator
Helping young people and families survive and thrive has always been my passion. Before coming to Right Turn, I spent six and a half years as a Wendy’s Wonderful Kids (WWK) Adoptive Family Recruiter. I had the amazing opportunity to build relationships with young people in foster care and help them reach their permanency goals, including that of adoption. I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in May 2004, with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Sciences. I have always found joy working in some capacity with young people. Prior to becoming a WWK Recruiter, I was a contracted case manager for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. I specialized in working with foster children who were free for adoption and those with higher needs. I have also worked at the nationally recognized, Girls and Boys Town, with young people in residential care facilities.
I have an amazing husband, Shane, three children, Taylor, Grant, and Logan, and two dogs Doc and Zoe that we love very much. In my free time, I enjoy taking the dogs for walks, exploring new things around Omaha with my family, participating in church activities, volunteering in the community and at my children’s school and having monthly “Girls Night Out” with friends. I am passionate about doing anything I can, no matter how big or small, to have a positive impact on a child’s life and future.
